Lawrence Park
A dream house! A capacious Tudor with great bones and even better flow. But the house needed everything. It was their labor of love.
He saw the house as achieving the American dream. She saw these large, gracious rooms as a foil for glam!
The palette is the spectrum of blue to green and back to blue again. We teased our client, “As long as it’s blue!” To stand up to the heavy architectural elements of this Tudor’s millwork and beams, we incorporated bold pattern on pattern in custom carpets, fabrics, and the graphic, floral pattern on the foyer walls. We brightened the interiors with sheen. Decorative paint with gold and silver accents spark up the dark walls, and metallic and glass furniture pieces shine. Silky yarns enliven many of the fabrics and carpets. Since the color scheme is tight, all furnishings work in all first floor rooms creating a visual flow from room to room. When entertaining, it’s very practical, as all furnishings can be moved to any room.
The first round of photos were taken in 2018 after just a year of working on this project. The second round in 2025. Eight years and counting, we’re still enjoying the embellishing! Drapes in the living room and dining room have been added, and another custom carpet is in the works. It will be yet another pattern in a key spot, the foyer stairs. It will compliment all the custom carpets on the first floor, stay tuned!
